5. Fridge Compartments and Shelves
If you are anything like me, you may not think to clean refrigerator shelves until you inevitably spill something inside. The bad news is that even in this cool environment, bacteria can grow and multiply. Take the time to regularly disinfect fruit and vegetable compartments in your refrigerator and wipe down fridge shelves. As a safety measure I also thaw any packed meat in a large bowl to ward off any dripping packages contaminating other food in the refrigerator.
