4. Yeast Infections
Burning, itching and oozing white stuff - YUCK! If you suspect you have a yeast infection, there are a few natural treatments you can try.
- Soak a clean cotton tampon into a container of whole milk plain/unsweetened yogurt and then insert it into your vagina overnight. (don’t do this if you have a dairy allergy)
- Taking a lukewarm bath with a cup of apple cider vinegar will ease symptoms of a vaginal yeast infection.
- Apply organic coconut oil to soothe itchy skin. Coconut oil is also a potent antifungal.
- Oregano oil is also an effective antifungal. If your yeast infection is oral thrush, swish a few ounces of warm water with a couple drops of oregano oil in your mouth. You can also use apple cider vinegar in the same fashion.
- You can also take an oral probiotic every day. This helps maintain the balance of natural bacteria in your gut. Combine this with a healthy diet that limits sugar and simple carbohydrates like bread and crackers especially when you have a yeast overgrowth somewhere in or on your body
- If you have thrush in your mouth, swishing your mouth with apple cider vinegar is helpful. adding the contents of a probiotic to about 4 ounces of lukewarm water and gargling will also fight the fungal infection. There are also chewable probiotics designed just for kids.
